Sleepeezee are measuring their carbon footprint with The Planet Mark

Sleepeezee, a Royal Warrant Holder, was founded in 1924 by the Price Family in Croydon, London. It was in the late 1920s that Sleepeezee became one of the first manufacturers to produce spring interior mattresses. Today, it still makes all of its beds by hand using traditional time-honored techniques.

This is Sleepeezee’s first year of certification to The Planet Mark. It calculated the carbon footprint of its UK operations for the year ending December 2018 and set a target to reduce emissions by 5% annually. This year’s footprint includes emissions from natural gas, electricity, fuel used by the fleet, electricity transmission and distribution and waste management for its Rochester site which includes its factory on Kings Road, dispatch and storage at Comms Park and Units B1 and C1 in Knights Park Industrial Estate.

“We’re incredibly proud that Sleepeezee has achieved Carbon Neutral Status. As a group, we’re constantly striving to improve every aspect of our business, from waste and energy management, to product development packaging and transportation, so it’s vital that our efforts make a positive impact on the environment around us. As a leader in the industry, Sleepeezee has put a great deal of work into our various sustainability projects over the last few years and we will continue to do so in the future”
