Rokill has been awarded The Planet Mark Certificate for its commitment to achieving year-on-year progress on sustainability. With its business’ emissions data now documented, the company can focus on meeting its sustainability commitments and achieving continuous improvement with The Planet Mark accreditation
Rokill Director, Chris Turner commented, “The Planet Mark has been instrumental inspiring Rokill to become a leader in sustainability in our industry. Sustainability is no longer a ‘nice to have’, we see it as integral to our business strategy, it makes good economic sense.”
The Planet Mark Certificate was presented to Rokill on 21st September by Steve Malkin, founder of The Planet Mark, at their offices based in Hampshire. “As the recipient of a Royal Warrant, Rokill is clearly a company committed to excellence. It is fantastic that it is bringing its customary high standards to bear on the issue of sustainability,” commented Steve.
Rokill recorded a total carbon footprint of 362 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e) for the year, with the majority of their emissions (84%) coming from their fleet. In order to mitigate the impact of their fleet emissions Rokill have begun working with their telematics provider to improve fuel efficiency through driver behaviour.
Over the coming year, Rokill will carry out the following actions to improve their sustainability, reduce their business carbon footprint and retain The Planet Mark certificate:
- Conduct an ‘energy audit’ to help identify where most energy is being used and potential wastage from equipment
- Investigate the installation of LED, T5 and sensor lighting and the upgrade of heating controls
- Provide easily accessible recycling bins
- Continue to provide safe and fuel-efficient driving training for all drivers.
Rokill proudly holds the Royal Warrant by appointment to Her Majesty The Queen. Warrant Holders are united by their commitment to the highest standards of service and excellence.
