BENNIMAN RETAINS CERTIFICATION
Benniman construction group achieves 8.2% reduction in carbon emissions per employee
2018, Benniman ’s third year of carbon footprint reporting with The Planet Mark saw the Worcestershire based construction company measure emissions from its Bromsgrove office and 8 temporary operations sites. This year’s footprint includes emissions related to energy, waste disposal, water usage, fleet travel and paper usage in the office as well as on their remote sites
Upon receiving the certificate, Tim Mills, Procurement Director at Benniman commented; “Sustainability and the importance of measuring and reducing our carbon footprint year on year is now embedded at the core of our business and is a fundamental consideration of every action. Our staff are enthusiastic and committed. As a team we are constantly looking to develop initiatives that will have a positive impact for us as a business and for the environment we live in.”
Benniman first calculated the carbon footprint of its Bromsgrove office for the year ending December 2016 and set a target to reduce emissions by 5% annually. Now in its third year of certification to the programme, Benniman continues to make significant strides forward in its sustainability performance, an achievement commended by Steve Malkin, CEO and founder of The Planet Mark; “Benniman is a truly remarkable company with sustainability is at the very heart of its operations. Their latest achievements are outstanding and demonstrate that businesses with the right level of commitment will continue to make progress year-on-year.”
