Andrew Prosser has been appointed acting head of Certification at Planet First, effective immediately.
Andrew, a recognised expert on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and environmental reporting, takes over the responsibilities of Monica Niermann, former head of Certification at Planet First. These include managing all activities relating to The Planet Mark™ certifications and Code of Practice. Andrew will remain acting head while the company searches for a full-time replacement who can help drive forward the next phase in the development of the business.
Andrew has worked with environmental technologies and sustainability services for over 15 years. Before setting up his own consultancy firm, Capitalactiv, two years ago, he was an associate director at Verco, during which time he led the GHG accounting team and provided support on carbon, energy and climate change strategy to FTSE listed and Global 500 companies. Andrew was also part of the core group that developed UK Government GHG reporting guidance for business.
Andrew is currently a member of the Natural Capital Coalition and technical working groups for the UNEP Finance Initiative/GHG Protocol Portfolio Carbon Initiative.
“I am delighted to be joining Planet First to lead on its certification work,” Andrew said. “The Planet Mark™ is a unique programme that is gaining recognition while meeting the needs of a diverse range of organisations, properties and new developments. I’m looking forward to using my skills and knowledge to ensure we deliver an outstanding service to our customers.”
Andrew joins Planet First as the company further expands its consulting business and The Planet Mark™ certification programme.
Steve Malkin, CEO of Planet First and founder of The Planet Mark™, said: “We are delighted to have Andrew working with us to lead our certification programme. This is an exciting time for The Planet Mark™ as we expand its reach into supply chains and internationally.”
