A new venture supported by Eden Project launches its first ever advertising campaign across the London Underground, on tube platforms and the DLR, aiming to promote sustainability to businesses in the capital with the slogan “Get The Planet Mark”.

The Planet Mark is an innovative and dynamic environmental certification that benchmarks sustainability performance. The certification benchmarks carbon footprints and engages employees, supply chains and customers to help clients reduce their CO2e by at least 5% a year.

The ads will feature some of the benefits enjoyed by the organisations that have achieved this new certification, including **cost savings, carbon reductions, winning new business and increased employee engagement. **

Exterion Media, the out-of-home advertising company that recently rebranded from CBS Outdoor International, is a Planet Mark certified business and is providing the medium for the campaign.

Steve Malkin, CEO, Planet First said, ** “Climate change is high on the agenda given the recent flooding around the UK and as a city we are entering a time of huge change. Businesses play a part in this through their responsibility to improve their sustainability and The Planet Mark provides an easy way for them to do this. We are working with the Eden Project to create the future we want to live in. No matter where you start from, The Planet Mark campaign allows you to take ownership of your impact on the planet.” **

Planet First provides The Planet Mark in partnership with the Eden Project blending Eden’s passion and expertise in sustainability education with Planet First’s technical knowledge in monitoring and reporting sustainability performance and engagement at all levels to effect change.

The Eden Project has now also officially achieved its own Planet Mark certificate.

Sir Tim Smit KBE, co-founder of the Eden Project said “Even the Eden Project, known for its own standards in sustainability, environmental projects, conservation and teaching needs this certification. We want it because we can always do better. Sustainable values should run through all organisations ‘Like Brighton through rock’.”
