The Planet Mark™ to sponsor Climate category at DigitalAgenda Impact Awards for 2nd  year

The Planet Mark™ is once again sponsoring the Climate category at the DigitalAgenda Impact Awards, on March 7, 2018.

The DigitalAgenda Impact Awards celebrate innovations that improve lives and the world around us. The Planet Mark™ is sponsoring the Climate category for a second year, It follows a successful inaugural awards at London’s Barbican on March 1 2017, which featured Sir Tim Smit, founder of the Eden Project, (pictured) as keynote speaker.

Next year’s awards will be held at the Oval Space in Hackney, London, with headline sponsor Nominet Trust, the UK’s leading social tech funder, joined this time by German bank, Berenberg.

The DigitalAgenda Impact Awards 2018 will celebrate the best in UK tech for good innovation across 12 categories, including Climate and a new Sustainable Living category.

The Impact Award Climate category celebrates technologies and services that help manage and understand environmental change better, and that encourage greener living and ways of doing business. Last year, the Climate Award was won by bulb, the start-up green energy supplier.

Julian Blake, director of DigitalAgenda and chairman of the Impact Awards jury, said: “We’re proud and pleased to have The Planet Mark™ sponsor our Impact Awards for a second time in 2018. The Climate Award is one of the most important we give, addressing some of the most pressing challenges we face with truly innovative solutions.

“We know that The Planet Mark™ is working hard to engage with digital start-ups to help them think about what more they can do on climate – and is itself working to improve its digital offering through working more closely with this sector.”

Steve Malkin, founder of The Planet Mark™, added: “The UK Government has put tech and clean growth at the heart of its industrial strategy so we are delighted to be able to sponsor the Climate category once again at the DigitalAgenda Impact Awards next March. This is a fantastic event celebrating all that’s good about tech. We very much look forward to once again play our part on shining the spotlight on this exciting sector and what it is doing to combat climate change.”

The awards are open to all UK-founded or operating organisations – business, non-profit or public sector – with a life-changing tech product or service. Entries are free and open until December 18.

As well as a beefed-up category selection, the Impact Awards jury is also being strengthened, with more industry experts, including Eve Joseph, Responsibility manager, Microsoft UK and Justin Cooke, vice-chair, Unicef UK.

The DigitalAgenda Impact Awards will be hosted by Oli Barrrett MBE and Julian Blake.
