In 1987 Tim moved to Cornwall he and John Nelson together ‘discovered’ and then restored the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Tim remains a Director of the gardens to the present day.

Tim is Executive Chairman, Eden Regeneration Ltd and Founding Director of the Award winning Eden Project near St Austell in Cornwall. Eden began as a dream in 1995 and opened its doors to the public in 2000, since then more than 15 million people have come to see what was once a sterile pit turned into a cradle of life containing world-class horticulture and startling architecture symbolic of human endeavour.

Tim is a Trustee, Patron and Board Member of a number of statutory and voluntary bodies both locally and nationally. He has received a variety of national awards including The Royal Society of Arts Albert Medal (2003).

In 2002 he was awarded an Honorary CBE in the New Years Honours List and In January 2011 he was appointed an honorary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE) by Her Majesty the Queen. He has received Honorary Doctorates and Fellowships from a number of Universities. Tim was voted ‘Great Briton of 2007’ in the Environment category of the Morgan Stanley Great Britons Awards. In 2011 Tim was given a special award at the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, which recognises the contribution of people who inspire others with their vision, leadership and achievement.

Tim is the author of books about both Heligan and Eden and he has contributed to publications on a wide variety of subjects.

He lives in Lostwithiel, Cornwall and in his free time he enjoys reading, film, music and art.

Jason leads Exterion Media’s business in the UK as Managing Director. Having spent 18 years at CBSO, he has a wealth of business experience in media sales, outdoor advertising and transport sectors.

In the UK, Exterion Media manage the prestigious and the world’s largest out of home advertising contract with London Underground, as well as all contracts with all the main bus, light rail and heavy rail operators.

Prior to becoming Managing Director, Jason was Director – Franchise and Asset Strategy, responsible for relationships with asset partners. He successfully led the company’s sponsorship with LOCOG – 2012 and the pitch for the advertising contract at Westfield Stratford City.

During his time in both roles, Exterion Media has maintained its position as the number one transport advertising company in the UK.

Jason is married to Diane and they have three children, Oliver, Lucy and Ted.

I am a qualified Environmental Health Officer, with over 30 years working experience. I have worked in the public and private sector and since 1995 been employed in the Foodservice industry working for Bidvest 3663.

I have been involved in the development of various environmental standards and accreditations and been privileged to witnessed the change in attitude towards sustainability, from an unnecessary evil to an intrinsic part of the business core agenda.

I enjoy reading, walking, watching terrible TV programmes and anything to do with sustainability.

Steve Malkin

Steve is CEO of Planet First, a sustainability consultancy that works in partnership with The Eden Project to deliver The Planet Mark certification.

This is a people-focused programme that helps accelerate sustainability in organisations, particularly in SMEs, across sectors. Steve’s education in engineering, his work in communications and running Guinness World Record events is driving his passion for mass-engagement in sustainability.

Home is a small-holding in East Sussex, which he runs with his wife and three boys.
