Resource Event

Planet First, the sustainability consultancy which provides The Planet Mark certification to businesses, buildings and projects in partnership with The Eden Project, has announced that Resource is working towards achieving The Planet Mark Sustainability Certification.

Resource is the world leading event on corporate strategies for resource security and the circular economy and as part of this they understand the importance of measuring the environmental and social impact of their event.

Ed Lawson, Content Director at Resource said: “Through The Planet Mark certification we are using the information collected by measuring our carbon footprint to identify where to best target reductions. Sustainability is a vital component of the circular economy so it is essential that we consider it for our event. We have long term goals to reduce our carbon footprint and The Planet Mark certification is helping us focus on exactly how to achieve this”

Sustainability is high on the agenda across many sectors and the events industry is playing its part. Resource will achieve certification to The Planet Mark based on the measurement of their carbon footprint, including electricity, natural gas and waste.

Steve Malkin, CEO of Planet First commented, “Business sustainability and the circular economy are mutual issues. As resources become scarcer, it is critical for businesses to function in a circular economy and ensure that business growth is sustainable. In measuring their carbon footprint through The Planet Mark, Resource are creating an environment for knowledge sharing and innovation whilst recognising the need to reduce energy and waste through their events.”
