Prologis, the leading global provider of industrial real estate, chose to increase their community investment and fund a workshop run by the Eden Project Schools Programme. Three employees from Prologis volunteered to help the Eden Project run a day at Mappleborough Green School, teaching thirty-two students about sustainability in curriculum-linked lessons. Using engaging activities including poem writing, measuring trees and making giant graphs as well as using characters such as Barbie and Ken, the children explored the outdoors and learnt about sustainability in an appealing and relevant way.

The day was a great success. The children, the teachers and the children’s families were enthusiastic to know more about sustainability and realised the necessity of education about sustainability. The day also helped to create a link between business and the local community due to Prologis’ involvement and support.

“The activities were great, a really good variety – you kept them all interested and motivated… and we would strongly recommend any school to take up the opportunity of a visit from you.”

Ruth Empsall, class teacher.
